Careers Information

At Newcastle Academy, we are working towards a planned programme of careers education, information and guidance for all our students, which focuses on developing, their:

  • Career Management
  • Career Self Development
  • Personal Character

Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance (CEIAG)

As a parent, you want your child to get the best possible start in their career. There are many options available to young people after the leave school and it can be difficult to find all the information.

Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) is extremely useful in preparing students for the opportunities and challenges of adult and working life. CEIAG is seen as playing an important role in motivating our students to maximise their academic and personal achievement whilst at school.

Newcastle Academy is currently working with the Careers Enterprise Company to build a stable careers programme to ensure that our students leave with a secure understanding of the world of work.

We currently have a Year 10 mentoring scheme in place with Career Ready and Davies Insurance Group UK, where students are mentored by senior staff from Davies Insurance focusing on the students’ personal character and skills set in preparation for the world of work.
