Playstation Final

Playstation Gaming Tournament

Earlier in this academic year Newcastle Academy hosted an extremely successful round of the Playstation FIFA 16 Tournament. FIFA coaches and Jack Buckland, Stoke City goalkeeper, gave the benefit of their expertise with some training techniques, and challenged students to games on the Playstation consoles.  Qualifying finalists on the day were Sam Edmond and Brandon Croft who were then invited to represent the school in the Playstation National FIFA 16 Finals held at the Madjeski Stadium home of Reading Football Club.

When they travelled down during May both boys were a credit to the school, with Brandon beating Sam in the quarter final.  Brandon went on to reach the final but was closely defeated by a strong opponent.  He was soon smiling again when he was presented with a Playstation Vita on the pitch as his prize.

The whole Tournament was a great event to take part in and everyone enjoyed their involvement. We are proud of the success of this day and our finalists’ achievements.
